PUD 3 Partners with Simpson on Relamp Project

Mason County PUD No. 3 and Simpson Lumber Company to improve the lighting at the Company’s operations in Mason County while improving energy efficiency. Justin Holzgrove, the PUD’s Conservation Manager, worked with Tony Enslow, Simpson’s Project Engineer and Environmental Specialist, on the project at the waterfront in Shelton and at the company’s mill on John’s Prairie. Trestle Work to Extend Highway 3 Lane Closure in June

Planned work on the railroad trestle over Highway 3 just outside Shelton will extend the length of the lane closure in that area next month. According to City Administrator Dave O’Leary, during the week of June 7th, crews will build scaffolding around the trestle and will be closing one lane of the highway at night to do so. The plan is to extend the light controlled one-lane alternating traffic area to the west of the trestle while the scaffolding is being erected. SUV Runs Off Cole Road

An SUV ran off Cole Road Monday morning and emergency crews had to use ropes and the Jaws of Life to remove the injured driver. Because of the angle of the vehicle, crews from Mason County Fire District 4 and Mason County Medic One used the ropes to stabilize the vehicle and hydraulics and cutters (Jaws of Life) to remove the SUV’s roof.
