Gas Prices Still Dropping

The average price of a gallon of gas in Washington is still dropping. Locally though, some prices have risen. According to, the average price of gas in the State is $3.54 a gallon. That’s down three cents in a week; is 43.5 cents less than a month ago; and nearly 25 cents less than a year ago. The State average is 12 cents higher than the National average. More Thunderstorms Expected

More thunderstorms are expected the next few days. The National Weather Service says there is 30% to 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms through Monday night. Forecasters say the nighttime thunderstorms will occur before 11 PM and the daytime thunderstorms will occur before 11 AM. There is also a chance of showers through Wednesday but the thunderstorms should end Tuesday night.

Reminder: Burn Ban Starts Sunday

Please remember: a ban on all outdoor burning will begin at 8 AM tomorrow (Sunday, July 15th) and will be in effect until at least September 30th. The Mason County Fire Marshal’s Office, a cooperative effort between the Mason County Department of Community Development and the Mason County Fire Chiefs Association, is enacting the burn ban which means all residential burning and land-clearing fires will be prohibited until further notice.
