Three Shelton wrestlers and two from North Mason are state bound after regional wrestling Saturday.

Four Highclimbers placed in Class 3A Region 2 boys’ wrestling tournament at Gig Harbor:
Robert Alfred took 2nd at 132 pounds.
Ammon Anderson was 4th at 195 pounds.
Cameron McAlevy placed 6th at 113 pounds.
Peace Lee finished 6th at 126 pounds.
As a team, Shelton finished 10th.

In the Region 2 Girls’ Wrestling Tournament at Decatur High School, Shelton’s Quinn Lacy finished 4th at 170 pounds while Julia Ragsdale was 6th at 100 pounds.

Alfred, Anderson and Lacy are heading to Mat Classic XXX February 16th and 17th at the Tacoma Dome.


The Bulldogs had one champion and place three others in the Class 2A Region 2 wrestling tournament at North Mason High School. Top placing boys from Belfair:

Miguel Gaspar-Hernandez won the 126 pound weight class.
Wylie Rice finished 4th at 285 pounds.
Daniel Pulley placed 5th at 160 pounds.
Domingo Pedro-Gaspar finished 6th at 126 pounds.
In the team standings, host North Mason placed 9th.

Gaspar-Hernandez and Rice are heading to Mat Classic XXX.
