Mason Transit is seeking input on the options for improvements to the intersection of Log Yard Road and State Route 3 as the MTA is constructing a park-and-ride at that location in Belfair. Wednesday, the MTA’s consultant, SCJ Alliance, held a public meeting to discuss those options which are a round-a-bout, a traffic light or stop signs with accelerations, deceleration and turn lanes.

Possible tops signs at Log Yard Road & State Route 3 in Belfair

Although not yet determined officially, the Washington State Department of Transportation would like to see a round-a-bout at that intersection. MTA and SCJ officials want to know what residents think before making a decision. That decision is expected in the next two weeks with the park-and-ride expected to by completed by June of 2019.

Those who were unable to attend Wednesday’s meeting can email their comments, concerns and suggestion to the MTA’s General Manager Danette Brannin at dbrannin@masontransit.org. Deadline for comments is Monday, March 12, 2018.
