Flu Immunization Clinic Set in Shelton Schools
In an effort to help students remain healthy this flu season, the Shelton School District is partnering with Healthy Schools to offer in-school flu shot clinics to 100% of students through the Shelton Schools Fights the Flu program.
Healthy Schools LLC is a healthcare access company that promotes the health of children by administering vaccines, including flu and Tdap, at schools, through public/private partnerships with school districts and Departments of Public Health. Healthy Schools provides all the required staffing for the program. In addition, Healthy Schools supplies vaccines from private supplies or from federal Vaccines for Children supplies, as applicable, so that students with private insurance, Medicaid, CHIP, or no insurance can all participate.
Prior to clinic days, CareDox enables schools to connect with parents to complete consent forms and capture insurance information. On clinic days, for those students with appropriately completed consent forms, a Healthy Schools nurse administers the vaccine. Through CareDox, records of vaccinations are submitted to the State Immunization Registry, and records are submitted to insurance providers for payment. No students, schools or parents are billed for these services.
Parents will need to sign up for this clinic prior to October 31, 2018. Paper registration forms can be returned to individual building offices or registration forms can be found online at signup.sheltonflu.com.

November 5, 2018
- Shelton High School
- Evergreen Elementary
- Oakland Bay Jr High
