The following is a summary of road construction and maintenance scheduled on state highways around Mason County and adjacent areas from April 14, 2019 to April 20, 2019.

Maintenance

Highway: SR 108 Region: Olympic County: Mason Location: Milepost(s) 9.7 to 11.8
Description: Utility crews for Mason County PUD #3 will raise power lines. Drivers may encounter one-way alternating traffic with flaggers. 
Work Schedule:  8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each weekday through Friday, May 3. 

Highway: SR 119 Region: Olympic County: Mason Location: Milepost(s) 0.8 to 10.9
Description: One-way alternating traffic with flaggers as utility crews replace lines.
Work Schedule: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each weekday through Wednesday, May 1.

Highway: SR 3 Region: Olympic County: Kitsap Location: Milepost(s) 32.8 to 33.2
Description: Single lane closure for guardrail repairs. 
Work Schedule: 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 15.

Highway: SR 3 Region: Olympic County: Kitsap Location: Milepost(s) 35.3 to 35.4
Description: Right shoulder closure for guardrail repairs.
Work Schedule: 9:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, April 17.

Highway: SR 3 Region: Olympic County: Kitsap Location: Milepost(s) 32.6 to 32.6
Description: Right shoulder closure for guardrail repairs.
Work Schedule: 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 15.

Highway: SR 3 Region: Olympic County: Kitsap Location: Milepost(s) 32.6 to 32.6
Description: Slow moving vehicle in the southbound direction for mowing and routine vegetation management for improved driver visibility to the NE Finn Hill ramp.
Work Schedule: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 through Wednesday, April 17.

Highway: US 101 Region: Olympic County: Clallam Location: Milepost(s) 269.8 to 270
Description: One-way alternating traffic with flaggers to install new curbing along the shoulder for an improved drainage containment system. 
Work Schedule: 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 15 through Thursday, April 18.

Highway: SR 8 Region: Olympic County: Grays Harbor Location: Milepost(s) 0 to 20.6
Description: Weather permitting, drivers will encounter a single, eastbound right lane closure for routine vegetation management.  
Work Schedule: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 17 through Thursday, April 18.

Construction 

SR 302 – E of Elgin Clifton Rd to SR 16 – Remove Fish Barriers, Paving and ADA Compliance
Highway: 302 Region: Olympic County: Pierce Location: Milepost(s) 10.8 to 16.9
Description: This project removes and replaces three fish barrier culverts under SR 302 with fish passable structures and repaves nearly 7 miles of highway along with ADA improvements for bicyclists and pedestrians.
Work Schedule: During construction, drivers should expect daytime lane and shoulder closures, extended weekend closures, extended on- and off-ramp closures and up to a full, weeklong closure of the Purdy Spit for deck repairs.  Project webpage.

US 101 – Elwha River Bridge
Highway:
 US 101 Region: Olympic County: Clallam Location: Milepost(s) 238.7 to 239.5
Description: WSDOT will replace the 1926, 388-foot concrete arch bridge over the Elwha River after successfully serving the community for more than 90 years in Clallam County. The new bridge will be 40 feet wide and sport two 12-foot lanes and two-8 foot shoulders. Additionally, improvements will be made to the US 101/Hot Springs Road intersection alignment including added illumination and turn lanes. Travelers are encouraged to stay informed with bridge inspections or construction announcements.

US 101 – Old Gardiner Rd to N of W Uncas Rd – Paving and Bridge Deck Repair

US 101 Region: Olympic County: Jefferson Location: Milepost(s) 275.8 to 283.9
Description: Beginning the week of April 22, drivers can expect one-way alternating traffic as crews repave nearly 8 miles of US 101 from east of the Clallam-Jefferson County line to north of the US 101/SR 104 interchange. Travelers can expect overnight, single lane closures each weekday through late summer until work is complete. During the overnight closures, drivers will follow a pilot car through the work zone.
