[VIDEO HIGHLIGTS] The Shelton football team dropped its season finale Thursday at Stadium 37 to 8.

The Highclimbers started with a dominate first quarter but couldn’t take advantage of Tiger miscues which included turnovers and penalties. Stadium had 57 yards in penalties in the first quarter but corrected those errors in the second and scored two touchdowns. The Tigers had a 16-0 lead at the half.

Stadium continued moving the ball in the third quarter adding 15 points and led 31 to 0 heading into the final 12 minutes.

Shelton got on the board early in the fourth, driving 62 yards on 8 plays with Charlie Hurt taking a Danny Mendiola-Lopez pass 36 yards for the score.

Zack Jonker then powered it in for the two-point conversion.

Some additional highlights from that drive included Bryson Crichton keeping the drive alive on a fake punt.

And Josiah Olels getting the bulk of penalty yards back on a run off a lateral after Jonker caught a pass from Mendiola-Lopez.

The Tigers added another TD with some of their younger players and picked up their second win of the season.

Stadium finished the game with 457 yards of offense while Shelton ended up with 191 – 142 in the air.

Hurt led the ‘Climbers with four catches for 70 yards and a touchdown. Jonker caught three passes for 58 yards.

Shelton finishes the 2019 season 1-and-9.
