Win for NM Softball; Losses for NM Baseball, SHS Softball & Baseball
The North Mason fastpitch softball team scored six runs in the fourth inning, five in the fifth and four in the sixth to pull away from Kingston Monday 17 to 7. The Lady Bulldogs pounded out 22 hits.
Sarah Pruitt was 3 for 5 at the plate with two doubles, six RBI, and two runs scored.
Alyssa Hatfield was 4 for 5 with a triple, three RBI and scored two runs.
Mandy Cole was 3 for 4 with two RBI.
Jill Maiuri hit a triple, batted in two runs and scored a run.
Amber Johnson was 4 for 5 with two doubles, a triple, an RBI an scored four runs.
Tuesday Palmer went 3 for 4, with a double, an RBI, and scored four runs.
Rosemary Hughes was 1 for 2 with an RBI.
Alexia Serebryakov went 2 for 4 and scored three runs.
Kaylee Huffman had a hit and scored a run.
The girls from Belfair are now 3-and-2 on the season. North Mason travels to Klahowya Wednesday.
The North Mason baseball team couldn’t catch North Kitsap Monday as the Bulldogs fell to the Vikings 10 to 4. NM had seven hits led by Caden North who was 2 for 3 with a double and two runs scored. Ethan Collins and Mason Shumaker each batted in runs. And Ethan Smith scored two runs. The boys from Belfair dropped to 1-and-4 on the season and travel to Bremerton today (Tues. April. 6th).
The Shelton fastpitch softball team lost a heartbreaker at Aberdeen Monday 14 to 13. The Highclimbers scored five runs in the first and two in the second to take a 7 to 1 lead but the Bobcats scored seven runs in their half of the second and added two more in the third and led 10 to 7. Shelton got one run back in the fourth and scored five runs in the sixth to take back the lead, 13 to 10. Aberdeen rallied with two runs in their half of the sixth. The Bobcats held the ‘Climbers scoreless in the seventh and scored the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the final frame.
Shelton now has a 2-and-2 record. The Lady Highclimbers host Tumwater Wednesday.
The Shelton baseball team lost to Aberdeen Monday 12 to 5. The Bobcats scored two runs in the first inning and had a 3-0 lead before the Highclimbers got two in the bottom of the third. Aberdeen responded with four runs in the fourth, two more in the fifth and three in the seventh.
Cole Schlender led Shelton in the loss, going 2 for 4 at the plate with two RBI. Cole Tinsley also batted in a run. Cannon Hutson scored two runs. Evan McCullough, Brendan Wagner and Kevin Snodgrass each scored a run.
The ‘Climbers drop to 2-and-2 on the season and travel to Tumwater Wednesday.
