Mason County Public Health reported one death and 32 new cases of COVID-19 in the County on Friday, September 10, 2021. The death, a man in his 40’s, is the 48th Mason County resident to die from coronavirus since the pandemic began. The report says nine County residents are still hospitalized due to coronavirus (one out of County). With 326 cases in the last 14 days, Mason County’s rate of new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population over two weeks is now 502, down from Thursday’s rate of 508. According to health officials, the County’s vaccination rate is now 48 percent. Mason County has a population of 64,980.
