Win for SHS Softball & Baseball, NM Baseball
The Shelton fastpitch softball team rallied from four runs down and walked off with an 11 to 10 win over Centralia Wednesday.

This was a back and forth game that saw the Tigers build a four-run lead twice late in the game. The Highclimbers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning with one run. Centralia took the lead with two runs in the top of the second. Shelton took back the lead with three runs in the third and added another run in the fourth to be up 5 to 2. However, the Tigers sent four runs home in the fifth inning and three runs in the top of the sixth to lead 9 to 5. In the bottom of the sixth Shelton got a solo home run from Natalie Glenn which the Centralia matched in the top of the seventh.
In the bottom of the final inning, down 10 to 6, the Highclimbers rallied. After Liv Rasmussen double in Cassandra Tyler (making it 10 to 7) and an out later, Natalie Glenn hit a three-run home run to right to tie the game. Then with two out, Makayla Lee and Bailey Plant walk. Ada Gouley hit a single to right field and Lee scored the winning run from second base.
Shelton’s Natalie Glenn finished 2 for 4 at the plate with two home runs and five RBI.
Ada Gouley was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBI.
Liv Rasmussen had a double and batted in a run.
Makayla Lee was 3 for 3.
Hailey Schuffenhauer was 2 for 3.
Centralia was led in the loss by “MadDog” Maddalyn Rothdeutsch who was 2 for 4 at the plate with a home run and four RBI.
Makenna Smith was 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBI.
Brooklyn Sprague was 2 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI.
Hollynn Wakefield batted in a run.
The Highclimbers picked up their first Evergreen Conference win of the season and improved to 3-and-7 overall, 1-and-4 in EVCO play. Shelton hosts Black Hills Friday on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.
The Shelton baseball team took the three-game season series with Centralia beating the Tigers Wednesday on the road 14 to 0. The Highclimbers pounded out 11 hits while holding Centralia to just two.
Shelton’s Jax Ward, Daniel Crossan, Gunnar Jensen and Michael Carlson batted in two runs each.
Carl Turnbow and Cam Winans had an RBI each.
Boston Madison allowed the Tiger’s two hits in three innings while striking out five. Kingston Cahoon pitched two innings of relief giving up only on walk and striking out three.
The Highclimbers improved to 5-and-6 on the season, 4-and-2 in the Evergreen Conference. Shelton plays at Black Hills Friday.
The North Mason baseball team held off Kingston Wednesday 13 to 10. The Bulldogs sweep the two-game season series with the Buccaneers. Reid Shumaker led NM at the plate going 4 for 4 with a double and two RBI.
Calvin Rice added a double and four RBI.
Pauli Calafiore and Caden Atencio batted in two runs each.
Danner Jones and Boston Stanley had an RBI each.
North Mason improved to 8-and-4 on the season, 4-and-4 in the Olympic League. The Bulldogs play North Kitsap Saturday at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma.
