The National Weather Service says there is a threat of river flooding Sunday into next week for the Skokomish River.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in the headwaters of the Skokomish River beginning as early as late Saturday morning and persisting through at least Monday night next week with rainfall totals of 2.5 to 4.5 inches. Meanwhile snow levels will rise from around 4000 feet to over 7000 feet. This is expected to result in rapid rises on the river Sunday into Monday. The river is currently projected to crest between 17.2 and 17.7 feet Monday afternoon.
