shelton Police patchA police chase in Shelton Thursday night ended with a crash and two suspects are still at large. According to a news release, about 10:45 PM, Shelton Police were notified of a reckless vehicle in the area of South 12th Street and May Avenue. An officer located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop the 2008 Dodge pickup. The truck stopped for a few seconds before speeding off. The officer pursued and dispatch advised the officer that the truck was reported stolen out of Elma. At one point in the chase, the driver of the stole vehicle rammed the pursuing police vehicle and attempted to run over the officer. The pursuit ended when the suspect lost control and crashed into a fence and several parked cars in the 300 block of South 7th Street. The driver and a passenger fled on foot. A Mason County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit was brought in to track the suspects and the King County Sheriff’s Office Guardian One helicopter also responded to help with the search but neither the driver nor passenger was located. Meanwhile, a third occupant in the stolen truck was detained at the scene. No one was injured in the crash and no arrests have been made. The investigation continues.
