The following is police activity in Mason County reported from Saturday, August 24, 2013 through Friday, August 30, 2013.
The Shelton Police Department is investigating an assault at 1st and Railroad Tuesday night that resulted in murder.
Shelton officers are also looking into arson in the 1700 block of S 7th Street; an assault in the 100 block of W Cota Street; and burglaries in the 200 block of S 2nd Street and in the 2500 block of Olympic Highway North.
The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is investigating burglaries in the 1100 block of SE Dahman Road in Kamilche, in the 100 block of E Anderson Road North on Harstine Island, in the 3500 block of NE North Shore Road near Belfair, and in the 100 block of NE Meek Hill Road in Belfair.
Deputies are also looking into assaults in the 17,400 block of W Shelton Matlock Road in Matlock, in the 200 block of W Wynwood Drive west of Shelton, on W Railroad Avenue near the interchange with U.S. Highway 101, on SE Skalapin Lane on the Squaxin Reservation, and in the 23,000 block of NE State Route 3 in Belfair.
Domestic assaults were reported in the 700 block of E Libby Road, in the 3000 block of E Agate Road, and in the 600 block of N Lake Cushman Road in Hoodsport.
Sex offenses were reported in the 200 block of S 12th Street in Shelton and on NE North Shore Road near Hahobas Boys Scout Camp.
A sudden death was reported in the 200 block of E Wilson Road on Harstine Island.
A missing person report was filed in the 100 block of E Cedargrove Lane in Shorecrest.
Traffic collisions occurred on W Shelton Valley Road near W Cloquallum Road, in the 500 block of SE Arcadia Road, in the 1500 block of Mason Street in Shelton, in the 2500 block of Olympic Highway North in Shelton, at the intersection of N 13th Street and Northcliff Road in Shelton, at the intersection of N 13th Street and Alpine Way in Shelton, in the 3200 block of E Johns Prairie Road, on E Ann Arbor Drive, in the 16,300 block of E State Route 3, on NE Elfendahl Pass Road, and in the 38,400 block of N U.S. Highway 101 near the Jefferson County Line.
Fire arms complaints were filed in the 300 block of W Mealistra Road near Schafer State Park, on Green Diamond 1645 Road near Lake Nahwatzel, on E Cherry Park near Island Lake, on E Harstine Island Road North, on E Hyland Drive near Union, in the 2300 block of E Anthony Road, on NE Barbara Lane in Belfair, and in the 200 block of NE Tahuya Boulevard.
Thefts were reported from SE Sells Drive off Lynch Road, from the 500 block of W Cota Street in Shelton, from the 800 block of W Cota Street in Shelton, from the 100 block of N 1st Street in Shelton, from the 700 block of W Pine Street in Shelton, from the 400 block of E Walnut Street in Shelton, from the 300 block of E Wallace Kneeland Boulevard in Shelton, from the 100 block of E Wallace Kneeland Boulevard in Shelton, from the 100 block of E Anthony Road, from E Union Heights Place South, from E Midnight Court, from the 100 block of E Belwood Lane between Allyn and Belfair, from the 23,900 block of NE State Route 3 in Belfair, and from the 5700 block of N Lake Cushman Road.
Vehicles were stolen in the 1500 block of May Avenue in Shelton and in the 100 block of NE River Road.
A car prowls was reported on E Cherry Park near Island Lake.
Stolen vehicles were recovered on SE Bloomfield Road in the Kamilche area and on NE Bear Creek Dewatto Road.
