A recently released sex offender has re-registered his address with the Sheriff’s Office and is living in the 1100 block of E. Phillips Lake Loop Road. According to a bulletin, 23-year-old Jesse Michael Matz was in jail for Department of Corrections violation and is required to register as a sex offender due to a 2010 guilty plea to Rape of a Child 3rd Degree. This conviction stems from Matz at age of 20, raping a 14-year-old girl. Court documentation revealed that Matz snuck into a friend’s house where another person had placed the drug Ketamine into the victim’s drink. Matz then raped the child. During that investigation, another victim was interviewed. This 15-year-old girl stated that she was at a party with Matz and had passed out after drinking only a root beer. Friends at the party informed her the next morning that Matz had raped her. This girl then disclosed that she attended several other parties with Matz and that he was giving other young girls Ketamine and then raping them. During the same investigation another 15-year-old girl disclosed that on multiple occasions, she voluntarily took Ketamine from Matz and that Matz had sex with her several times. Matz is on Department of Corrections Supervision and is not allowed to be around minors. The Sheriff’s Office has assessed Jesse Matz as a Level 3 Sex Offender – the highest level – and he is considered at a high risk to re-offend. Jesse Michael Matz is a white male, 5-foot-11, 165 pound with brown hair and brown eyes. And again, Jesse Matz has given his address within Mason County as within the 1100 block of E. Phillips Lake Road.
