sheriff patchThe Mason County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in Allyn Thursday night that left a man dead and a woman is in custody. According to a news release, Deputies responded to the 1 to 100 block of E. Sherwood Lane about 9 PM after receiving a report of a gunshot heard in the area. While Deputies and Detectives were in route, the reporting party informed MACECOM Dispatchers that a white adult female had shot a white adult male in the face, that the female suspect had fled the scene on foot, and that the male victim was laying unresponsive in the front area of the residence. Upon arrival, Deputies found the 47 year old homeowner at his front door, deceased of an apparent gunshot wound to the face.  Deputies searched the area and found the suspect, lying in the back yard next door to the victim’s residence.  The 34 year old Shelton woman was taken into custody and transported to the Mason County Jail without incident.  The suspect was booked for investigation of murder with a firearm. A search warrant was served on the victim’s residence and a firearm was found and placed into evidence. Mason County Coroner Wes Stockwell has identified the victim as Patrick Joseph Frender, age 47, of 71 E Sherwood Creek Road, Allyn. Mason County Prosecutor Michael Dorcy has identified the suspect as Sarah Joclyn Olivas, age 34, of Shelton.
