The Fire Marshal for the City of Shelton has determined that current weather conditions have created substantial fire dangers and that there is a need to enact restrictions on outdoor burning on all lands located within the City. A complete burn ban will take affect Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 8:00 a.m.
The burn ban applies to ALL OUTDOOR BURNING, including land clearing, yard debris, and now recreational fires. The use of charcoal briquettes, gas, and propane barbecues will continue to be allowed under the ban.
This ban covers the City of Shelton. No word yet from Mason County’s Fire Marshal. However, a burn ban has been in effect since July 15th which applies to OUTDOOR BURNING, including land clearing and yard debris; with the exception of recreational fires in approved concrete, stone, or metal pits like those commonly found in campgrounds.
