The Shelton football team was unable to stop Yelm Friday as the Highclimbers lost to the Tornados 56 to 14 on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.

Yelm jumped on Shelton early, scoring two first quarter touchdowns before the ‘Climbers’ Troy Goodwin got Shelton on the board with a three-yard TD run.

The Tornados added three more touchdowns before halftime and Yelm headed to the locker room up 35 to 6.

In the third quarter, the Tornados added another TD before Goodwin took an Evan Rhodes pass 13 yards for Shelton’s second score. Goodwin also added the two-point conversion.

Yelm added two more touchdowns on the way to their second wind o the season.

Shelton dropped to 0-and-3 on the season. The Highclimbers hit the road next Friday and take on Peninsula at Roy Anderson Stadium. The game will be on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.

NM Improves to 3-and-0

The North Mason football team is off to a 3-and-0 start after the Bulldogs knocked off Kingston Friday 28 to 6. The Bulldogs took advantage of three Bucanneer turnovers to score their first three touchdowns.

North Mason’s Dylan Tupolo scored two first half TDs (from 17 yards and 5 yards) after fumble recoveries. Mario Nanez scored the Bulldogs’ other two TDs in the second half – one on an interception he returned 12 yards for the score; the other from 7 yards out.

North Mason is 3-and-0 on the season. The boys from Belfair host Port Angeles next Friday.
