UPDATE: Power restored at 7:29 PM Sunday to Mason PUD 3 customers affected by an outage that cut power to the Pioneer Substation north of Shelton. Linemen found damaged equipment on a high power transmission pole on Hwy 3 near Anthony Road. The pole supports 115,000 volt power lines that feed the substation. 6,231 customers were affected by the outage, which began at 4:00 PM and reported by the PUD’s Grid Monitoring system. The original time for restoration was 9:00 PM.
PUD 3 Crews Working to Restore Power
Mason PUD 3 linemen are working to restore electricity to 6,231 customers in the Agate, Lake Limerick, and Harstine Island areas. Loss of power to a substation serving those area is the cause of the outage.
Linemen found damaged equipment on a transmission pole on Hwy 3 near Anthony Road It’s unknown how it was damaged. Crews are making repairs now and hope to have power restored by about 9:00.
The loss of power was reported at 4:00 PM by the PUD’s grid monitoring program. It’s affecting customers in the following general areas:
