The Port of Grapeview Commission is considering asking voters for an small increase in property taxes for six years beginning in 2021. The Commissioners are considering a one cent – that’s a penny – increase to the Port District’s current rate which is less than three cents per thousand of assessed value.

If approved by voters in November, the additional funds would pay for maintenance and operations of the Port’s boat ramp, boarding float, parking lot, restroom, picnic shelter, kiosk pay terminal and other infrastructure expenses.

The proposed resolution to place the measure on the General Election Ballot is available on the port’s website: www.portofgrapeview.com.

The Port of Grapeview Commission is holding a special meeting at 7 PM Monday, July 27, 2020 to to discuss the levy and is asking the public to comment. The meeting will be held via Zoom video conferencing. Instructions on how to join the Zoom meeting are available on www.portofgrapeview.com.
