
Monday, the Port of Grapeview Commission unanimously decided to ask voters to approved the first property tax levy increase in the Port District since 1978. The Port is asking for a one-cent per thousand of assessed value increase in property taxes. The measure will be on the November General Election Ballot, If approved, funds will be used to pay for maintenance and operations of the Port’s boat ramp, boarding float, parking lot, restroom, picnic shelter, kiosk pay terminal and other infrastructure expenses for six years beginning in 2021.
The Port of Grapeview’s current property tax levy rate is less than three cents per thousand.
