With new wildfires in northern California, smoke could make its way into the region this week.

The National Weather Service says, “New fire starts since yesterday are pumping out quite a bit of smoke that’s heading out into the Pacific given offshore flow down there. Aloft, flow will be southerly over the next several days. Smoke forecast models depict that some of this smoke will drift north overhead into the area by Tuesday night and Wednesday. Uncertainty remains in the details and whether this will have any impact at the surface on air quality so it’s best to stay tuned to the forecast. Don`t foresee this being anywhere as bad as our last go-round as winds will shift by Thursday and Friday.”
