Mason County Public Health reported another death and 41 new cases of COVID-19 in the County on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. The death of a man in his 80’s increased the number of Mason County residents to die from coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic to 60. The report also says six Mason County resident remain hospitalized due to COVID-19 (one out of county). With 482 cases in the last 14 days, Mason County’s rate of new COVID-19 per 100,000 of population over two weeks is now 742, up from Tuesday’s rate of 733. According to health officials, the County’s vaccination rate increased one-tenth of a percentage point to 51.4 percent on Monday. Mason County has a population of 64,980.
