The Washington State Patrol is investigating a motorcycle crash near Port Orchard Sunday that sent a Belfair man to Harborview Medical Center.

A press memo says the motorcycle was westbound on State Route 16 at a high rate of speed about 6:30 PM. While negotiating a curve at milepost 27 (just west of Tremont), the bike struck a jersey barrier. The motorcycle then slid down the jersey barrier and struck a guardrail where the rider was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in lane 1. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The 52-year-old Belfair man was flown to Harborview.
