Initial results from Tuesday’s General Election show a new Superior Court Judge, three new Shelton City Council Members, a new Port of Shelton Commissioner, and incumbents returning to the Shelton School Board.

In the only county-wide race, Mason County Superior Court Judge Position 1, challenger Dave Stevens has 57.24% of the vote to incumbent Cadine Ferguson-Brown’s 42.46%. That’s 6,194 voting for Stevens and 4,595 voting for Ferguson-Brown with 33 write-ins.

In the races for Shelton City Council, George Blush leads Tristen Smith 57.3% to 42.18% for Council Member No. 1. That’s 557 voting for Blush, 410 voting from Smith, and five write-ins (0.51%).
Melissa Stearns leads incumbent Kathy McDowell 58.1% (549 votes) to 41.48% (392 votes) with four write-ins (0.41%) for Council Member No. 2.
And Tom Gilmore has a 28-vote lead on Mark Frazier for Council Member No. 5. That’s 51.23% (480 votes) for Gilmore to 48.24% (452 votes) for Frazier with five write-ins (0.53%).

Dale Elmlund is leading incumbent Sue Patterson for Port of Shelton Commissioner Position No. 1. Elmlund has 53.38% (1,849 votes) to Patterson’s 46.3% (1,604 votes) with 11 write-ins (0.32%).

In the races for Shelton School Board, incumbent Karla Knudsen-Johnston has an substantial lead on Brandi L. Housh for Director District No. 1. Knudsen-Johnston has 68.34% (1,971 votes) to Housh’s 31.17% (899 votes) with 14 write-ins (0.49%).
Incumbent Lauren Gilmore leads Andrew Wilford in the race for Director District No. 2. Gilmore has 52.27% (1,488 votes) to Wilford’s 47.24% (1,345 votes) with 14 write-ins (0.49%).
Incumbent Keri Davidson has a substantial lead on Tommy Stearns for Director Position No. 2. Davidson has 66.56% (1,895 votes) to Stearns 32.89% (936 votes) with 15 write-ins (0.53%).
And the new member on the Shelton School Board is Becky Cronquist who ran unopposed for Director Position No. 1.

There are ten votes separating the candidates for Hood Canal School Board Position No. 4 with Rebecca Roadman leading Jimmy Harris 780 votes (49.97%) to 770 votes (49.33%) with 11 write-ins (0.7%).
The Hood Canal School District’s bond measure to expand and renovate the school has 57.22% approval with 955 voting “Yes” and 714 voting “No” on the $33.5 Million 20-year bond.

There are 13 votes separating the candidates for Pioneer School Board Director Position No. 3. Robert Clark leads Jim Christies 987 votes (50.03%) to 974 (49.37%) with 12 write-ins (0.61%).
Meanwhile, Ellory Rowe has a substantial lead on Nicholas Stone for Pioneer School Board Director Position No. 4. Rowe has 67.77% (1,272 votes) to Stone’s 31.43% (590 votes) with 15 write-ins (0.8%).

Nicholas Jones has a commanding lead on Jennifer Jutson for Mason County Fire District 12 Commission Position No. 2. Jones has 87.16% of the vote with 258 to Jutson’s 35 or 11.82% with three write-ins or 1.01%.

Mason County Fire District 16‘s Emergency Medical Services Levy has a 57.23% approval rate with 389 voting “Yes” and 284 voting “No”.

In Mason County Fire District 17, Patrick O’Brien leads Jenni Glasco 64.45% (136 votes) to 35.55% (75 votes). Meanwhile, the Fire District’s Property Tax Levy Lid Lift is passing with 70.7% approval. That’s 152 voting “Yes” and 63 voting “No”.

There was a contested race for Hartstene Pointe Water Commissioner Position No. 1 with Carl E. Anderson holding a substantial lead on Andrew Hospador 73.28% (85 votes) to 26.72% (31 votes).

Election officials in the Mason County Auditor’s Office have nearly 1100 additional ballots on hand and will count those ballot Wednesday with updated numbers available after 5 PM.
