
The Shelton girls’ basketball team lost to Aberdeen Wednesday night 47 to 39 in a physical game that saw one player ejected on senior night for the Highclimbers. Nine Shelton players were recognized before the game: Kyann Miller, Ahree Allen, Ana Pinon, Lindsey Ozuma, Chaya Cruz, Jazzy Rivera, Cicily Dodge, Abbi Sachs, and Valani Andrews.

In the first half, the Bobcats seemed in control going up 13 to 8 in the first quarter and building a 13-point second quarter lead. However, the Highclimbers cut that deficit to one point before Aberdeen took a 27 to 24 lead into halftime.
The third quarter is when things got physical and an altercation led to the ejection of Shelton’s Jazzy Rivera.
The Highclimbers turned the ball over 32 times compared to 12 for the Bobcats. Aberdeen also went to the free line nearly three time more than Shelton although they only made 9 of 28 attempts compared to 6 of 10 for the ‘Climbers.
The Bobcats were led in scoring by Zoe Troeh’s 15 points and Jaylynn Phimmasone added 10.
The Highclimbers’ leading scorer was Cedar Wily who had 12.
Aberdeen improved to 13-and-6 on the season, 6-and-5 in the Evergreen Conference, sitting in fourth place with one game left. The Bobcats host second place W.F. West Friday.
Shelton dropped to 2-and-16, 1-and-10 in EVCO play. The Highclimbers wrap up the season at Centralia Friday.
