Insurance Issue for Matlock Fire Department

[VIDEO] Mason County Fire District 12 may be without insurance later this week. The Matlock Fire Department’s insurance company is dropping its coverage of the fire district which effectively puts the fire department out of business and unable to respond to calls. The Mason County Fire District 12 Commission is holding a special meeting at 3:30 PM Wednesday to discuss the situation. Coverage is set to end at 12:01 AM May 17, 2024.

Meanwhile, a community meeting was held at the Matlock Grange Monday night to update residents on the insurance issue and what the next step would be if the fire district loses its insurance.

Also During the meeting, Fire Commissioner Nick Jones explained what was discovered at Station 12-3 and there was discussion of another recall effort.
