Burn Ban Begins Thursday

[VIDEO] A burn ban will go into effect in Mason County on Thursday. Mason County Fire Marshal Randy Collins announced the burn ban during Tuesday’s Mason County Commission meeting.

At 12:01 AM Thursday, July 4, 2024, land clearing and residential burning will be prohibited in the county. Recreational burning (cooking fires using charcoal or firewood in a metal, concrete or rock circle no larger than three feet in diameter, and propane barbecues) is still permitted. However, as warmer weather continues, this activity could be restricted in the near future.
