Elections officials with the Mason County Auditor’s Office have released initial results from the General Election.

For Mason County Commissioner District 1, incumbent Randy Neatherlin leads his challenger William “Will” Harris 55.11% to 44.3%. That’s 15,338 voting for Neatherlin and 12,329 voting for Harris with 163 write-ins.

In the race for Mason County Commissioner District 2 (the seat currently held by Kevin Shutty who did not seek re-election), Pat Tarzwell leads Tom Beben 52.31% to 47.36%. That’s 14,320 voting for Tarzwell and 12,963 voting for Beben with 91 write-in votes.

These initial numbers are from 29,598 ballots that have been processed and counted There are about 5,000 ballots still to be counted with additional ballot expected over the next few days. Mason County Elections is expected to release additional results by 5 PM Wednesday.

In the 35th Legislative District:
Incumbent Republican Travis Couture is leading Democrat James DeHart for State Representative Position 2, 57.7% to 42.22%.
Dan Griffey ran unopposed for State Representative Position 1.

For 6th Congressional District U.S. Representative, Democrat Emily Randall leads Republican Drew MacEwen 57.3% to 42.58%.

For U.S. Senator, incumbent Maria Cantwell leads Dr. Raul Garcia 59.77% to 40%.

Bob Ferguson leads Dave Richert 56.28% to 43.53% for Governor
Denny Heck leads Dan Matthews for Lt. Governor 56.6% to 43.29%
In the race for Secretary of State, Steve Hobbs has 59.57% to 40.34%
Mike Pellicciotti has a 57.88% to 42.02% lead on Sharon Hanek for State Treasurer
Pat McCarthy is leading Matt Hawkins for State Auditor 58.57% to 41.3%
The next Attorney General appears to be Nick Brown who is leading Pete Serrano 56.26% to 43.66%
Dave Upthegrove leads Jaime Herrera Beutler for Commissioner of Public Lands 52.99% to 46.79%
In the Superintendent of Public Instruction race, Chris Reykdal had 53.51% of the vote to David Olson’s 45.94%
The next Insurance Commissioner appears to be Patty Kuderer who leads Phil Fortunato 57.16% to 42.73%

Initiative 2066 is passing with 51.22% approval
Initiative 2109 is failing with 63.21% voting against the measure.
Initiative 2117 is failing with 61.69% voting “No”
Initiative 2124 is also failing with 55.49% voting against

There is a tight race for Supreme Court Justice Position No. 2. Dave Larson has a 1,096-vote lead over Sal Mungia. That is five-hundredths of a percent. Larson has 49.78% of the vote to Mungia’s 49.73%.
