A 35-year-old Belfair man faces several charges after a wrong-way crash on Highway 3 in Bremerton Friday involving four vehicles but only one injury.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the Belfair man was driving an SUV southbound in the northbound lanes of State Route 3 about 11:30 PM. At milepost 35, the SUV struck one northbound car and continued. The SUV then struck another sedan head-on. A fourth vehicle struck debris from the crash. The SUV and the second sedan came to rest blocking one lane of SR3. The fourth car ended up on the right shoulder near the head-on scene while the first car struck stopped on the right shoulder at milepost 36.
A 44-year-old Bremerton woman who was a passenger in the car that was stuck head-on was transported to St. Michael’s Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
A press memo indicates drugs or alcohol were involved and lists “Driving Under the Influence” as the cause of the crash.
The 35-year-old Belfair man faces charges that include DUI.
