Have you ever considered running for City Council, but are unsure about what this important role entails?

The City of Shelton is hosting a City Government 101 event on Tuesday, April 29, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Civic Center, located at 525 West Cota Street.

This event will provide an overview of the roles and responsibilities of serving as a City Councilmember. The City Manager and staff will explain the Council-Manager form of government and the Council’s role within the overall operations of the City.

There are four City Council seats up for election in 2025. This City Government 101 session is designed for potential candidates in advance of Candidate Filing Week, which runs from May 5 to May 9.
