Travelers who use State Route 302 between Victor and the Pierce County line are advised to add extra time to reach their destination.

What’s happening
Starting Thursday, May 29, travelers will see temporary traffic signals on SR 302 south of Victor.

The signals will alternate traffic around the clock for a fish barrier removal project at Victor Creek.

The speed limit is also reduced to 25 mph from 40 mph between milepost 4.0 and milepost 4.3 during construction.

Why this is needed
Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation are shifting traffic to a single-lane bypass road to keep people moving during construction.

Workers will excavate the road to install a new bridge and remove two culverts that block fish migration.

This project is expected to be finished in fall 2025.
