Nighttime travelers who use US 101 south of Kamilche should plan for night lane closures during the week of Sept. 8.
During night construction, a portion of US 101 will also be temporarily reconfigured to accommodate both directions of travel.
Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will replace asphalt on sections of the highway between Kennedy Creek and Hurley Waldrip Road.
7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sept. 8-11, Monday through Thursday nights:
- Both directions of US 101 will reduce to one lane approaching the work zone.
- No left turns from Hurley Waldrip Road or Old Olympic Highway onto US 101.
- Reduced speed limits through the work zone.
During this time, southbound US 101 will be reconfigured to accommodate two-way travel. This will allow crews to repair the bridge deck and joints within the work area.
Travelers are encouraged to check the project webpage for updates.
Whenever near work zones please:
- Slow down – drive the posted speeds for worker and traveler safety.
- Be kind – workers are out there helping to keep people safe and improve the roadways.
- Pay attention – both to workers directing travelers and surrounding traffic.
- Stay calm – expect delays, leave early or take alternate routes if possible; no meeting or appointment is worth risking someone’s life.
