Eric Onisko has announced he will run for Mason County Commission next year. Onisko, currently serving as Shelton City Council Member No. 4 (and Mayor of Shelton), send the following announce Monday morning:

“We’re still counting votes for the city council seat #4 and again I want to thank everyone for their continued support over the years, the rumors are out It’s time to come clean. I had hoped to delay the announcement a little longer regarding the Mason County commissioner district seat #3 , but it seems the time has come. Our city and county have made significant progress during tough times, and we must continue moving forward. It’s crucial that we have candidates for office who are dedicated to thoroughly understanding the issues and making decisions that benefit the entire community.

“Having served on the city council for over seven years and as mayor near four,, I can confidently say that every decision I’ve made has weighed heavily on my mind. I strive to do what’s right. So, it is with a year to spare that I announce my candidacy, as I believe I am qualified, capable, and full of energy. I am committed to this role and don’t just attend meetings to leave right after. You see me around town—shopping, dining, walking the streets, picking up litter, and volunteering whenever necessary.

“I have consistently attended county meetings over the years, and my engagement can be verified. I have taken the time to meet with county leaders to explore ways to ensure Shelton and Mason County stay on the right path. Additionally, I collaborate with our 35th district legislators and federal representatives, regardless of their party affiliation, because when it comes to the well-being of our city and county, party lines shouldn’t divide us.

“I would also like to express my gratitude to Sharon Trask for her unwavering commitment and selfless dedication to Shelton and Mason County. Her efforts have made a significant impact on our community, and we are all thankful for her service.

Eric Onisko”
