High School Sports Report for 11/29/25

SHS Girls’ & Boys’ Basketball Play in Jamborees

High school basketball started on Saturday with the Shelton hoops teams playing in jamborees. The Lady-‘Climbers played at River Ridge while the boys played at Elma.

In a jamboree, teams play for 10 minutes against each other.

The Shelton girls split their match ups: beating Orting 13 to 8 but having trouble with River Ridge falling 25 to 20. The Highclimbers couldn’t break the Hawks’ press which resulted in ‘Climber turnovers and RR points.

The Shelton boys also split their two matchups: dominating Ocosta 18 to 6 (leading 15-0 before the Wildcats scored their first basket) but falling to host Elma 21 to 20 (a made free throw with no time on the clock was the difference.)

The Shelton basketball teams start the regular season against Olympic. The boys are on Tuesday, and the girls are on Wednesday. Both games will be broadcast on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.

The Mary M. Knight basketball also participated in the Elma Jamboree. Unfortunately, no results were available or reported.

MasonWebTV does not have information on North Mason basketball as we believed they were schedule to play in a jamboree in Port Orchard but again, no report.
