A Shelton man was struck while walking across U.S. Highway 101 at Shelton Matlock Road Friday afternoon.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the 31-year-old Shelton man was walking on the ramp to northbound 101 about 1 PM and attempted to cross the highway to the southbound side. A southbound SUV struck the pedestrian and came to rest on the southbound shoulder.
The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The driver of the SUV, a 78-year-old Hoodsport man, was injured and transported to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
