Both SHS Hoops Team Win Final Alaska Games; SHS & NM Wrestling Results

The Shelton girls’ basketball team wrapped up play in the Sitka High Coastal Shootout Saturday with an 80 to 27 win over Nikiski. The Highclimbers led throughout behind Janelle Krise’s 27 points and 6 steals. Cedar Wily added 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 blocks. And Olivia Swanson finished with 12 points. Shelton won two of three games in Alaska and returns home with a 6-and-1 overall record. The Highclimbers are off until December 30th when they host Kingston on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.


The Shelton boys’ basketball team won its final game in Alaska on Saturday, beating Nikiski 74 to 28. Fletcher Henry led the Highclimbers with 19 points and 9 rebounds (7 offensive rebounds). Masyn Gard added 16 points. And Sharkey French and Brayden Phipps chipped in 8 points each as the ‘Climbers dominated the Bulldogs. Shelton won their three games in the Sitka High Coastal Shootout and improved their record to 6-and-3. The Highclimbers return to Washington and are off until December 30th when they play at Central Kitsap on December 30th.


The Shelton girls’ wrestling team finished 2nd in the Grays Harbor Championships Saturday at Aberdeen High School with three Highclimbers taking championships and eight others placing.

Amaya Carrion won the Championship at 110 pounds.

Sofia Todd won the Championship at 135 pounds.

Crystal Nielsen won the Championship at 145 pounds.

Aryanna Arnold finished 2nd at 115 pounds.

Meiyla Chamblin-Tyler took 2nd at 125 pounds.

Jillian Temizqueno Danker finished 2nd at 170 pounds.

Naima Harmon placed 3rd at 105 pounds.

Collette Mullen took 3rd at 115 pounds.

Victoria Cation was 3rd at 120 pounds.

Makayla Farret Bennett finished 3rd at 140 pounds.

Daisy Oltman placed 3rd at 155 pounds.

The Lady-‘Climbers head to the Pac Coast Girls Tournament at the Clark County Event Center in Ridgefield on December 29th & 30th.


The Shelton boys’ wrestling team placed 4th in the Pat Alexander Invite at Tumwater High School Saturday with a Highclimber winning a championship and six others placing.

Noa Tuitea won the Championship at 285 pounds.

Travis Ranker placed 2nd at 106 pounds.

Aaron Cervantes finished 2nd at 144 pounds.

Aiden Dodge was 3rd at 120 pounds.

Finnian Ball finished 3rd at 157 pounds.

Roman Stigall took 4th at 126 pounds.

Gunnar Jensen was 4th at 157 pounds.

The North Mason girls’ wrestling team finished 16th in the HammerHead Invite Saturday with two Bulldogs placing.

Brooke Howard took 2nd place at 135 pounds, losing to Angie Monday from Othello in the championship.

Camrynn Pike placed 5th at 155 pounds, beating Skyview’s Nivayah Henry.

NM heads to the Grizzly Stocking Stuffer at Hoquiam High School on Monday.
