The Bobcats led from the start of the game behind Isaac Garcia’s 21 points and 8 steals, and Jhacob Quezada’s 14 points and 5 rebounds.
The Highclimbers were led in the loss by Sam Parsons 12 points. Masyn Gard added 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Shelton drops to 5-and-7 on the season, 0-and-2 in the Evergreen Conference. The Highclimbers play at Capital Saturday on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.
The Mary M. Knight girls’ basketball team knocked off Rochester Friday 43 to 21. The Owls held the Warriors to two points in the first quarter and slowly pulled away from the larger school. Cloey Fletcher, who, before the game, was recognized for breaking the 1,000-point threshold in career scoring, led MMK with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 steals. Maelynn Nygaard added 10 points and 9 rebounds. Bella Buck chipped in 7 points and 13 rebounds. And Carissa Reeves recorded 5 points and 6 steals. Mary M. Knight improved to 6-and-4 on the season. The Owls host Three Rivers Christian Saturday.
The Mary M. Knight boys’ basketball team lost to Cornerstone Christian Academy Friday 51 to 47. The Owls had a six-point lead in the first quarter. CCA took a six-point lead in the second and increased it to 11 in the third only to see MMK battle back and take a four-point lead in the fourth. Cornerstone would then retake the lead, going up five, before holding off a late Owl run. Mary M. Knight was led in the loss by Ryder Lake who scored 21 points, had 7 steals and grabbed 5 rebounds. Gabe Walters added 15 points and 10 rebounds (6 offensive boards). And Hunter Gilmore-Hulford pulled down 14 rebounds. The Owls drop to 4-and-4 on the season. MMK hosts Three Rivers Christian Saturday.
The North Mason girls’ basketball team lost at Bainbridge Friday 62 to 37. The Bulldogs were able to take a one-point lead in the first quarter but the Spartans controlled the game after that. NM was led in the loss by Natalya Garcia’s 11 points and 6 rebounds. Taylor Madison added 8 points and 4 steals. And Aubrey Dunham grabbed 8 rebounds for North Mason. The Bulldogs are now 3-and-8 on the season 1-and-5 in the Olympic League. NM hosts Olympic Tuesday.
The North Mason boys’ basketball game against Bainbridge Friday was cancelled. The game has been rescheduled for January 29th against the Spartans’ JV.
The North Mason girls’ wrestling team has two still competing in the 2026 Braided 64 at Kelso High School. Brooke Howard is wrestling at 135 pounds while Camrynn Pike is competing at 170 pounds. Wrestling continues Saturday.
