High School Sports Results from 1/22/26

Hoops Win for NM Girls; Hoops Losses for SHS Girls & NM Boys

The Shelton girls’ basketball team lost to Black Hills Thursday 63 to 52.

The game was close until the third quarter when the Wolves broke things open, building a 22-point leady early in the fourth quarter. However, the Highclimbers were able to cut that to eight late in the game but couldn’t catch up.

Black Hills was lead by Natalie Buchanan who scored 18 points, hitting 7 of 10 free throws. Tyler Venable added 18 points (12 in the third quarter) and 5 steals. And Ellie Johnson grabbed 10 rebounds for the Wolves.

Shelton was led in the loss by Janelle Krise who scored 29 points and pulled down 15 rebounds. Olivia Swanson hite four three-pointers and added 12 points.

Both teams are now 3-and-3 in the Evergreen conference. Shelton is now 12-and-5 on the season while Black Hills is 10-and-7.

The Highclimbers host Aberdeen Tuesday.

The North Mason girls’ basketball team held off Muckleshoot Thursday 54 to 46. The Bulldogs had a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter that the Kings were able to get down to four. Natalya Garcia led NM in scoring with 22 points. Aubrey Dunham added 16 points and 16 rebounds. And Taylor Madison finished with 8 points and 8 steals. North Mason improved to 5-and-10 on the season. The Bulldogs host Bremerton Friday on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.

The North Mason boys’ basketball team lost to Muckleshoot Thursday 76 to 59. The Bulldogs drop to 5-and-9 on the season. NM travels to Bremerton Friday.
