Mason Health recognizes Supply Chain Technician Tracy Keefe as February 2026 Employee of the Month.

Mason Health is pleased to recognize Teresa (Tracy) Keefe, Supply Chain Technician, as the February 2026 Employee of the Month, honoring her more than nine years of service, commitment to teamwork, and steady support of hospital operations behind the scenes.

Keefe first joined Mason Health in 2016 as a courier, bringing with her extensive experience in logistics and service from a 32-year career with the U.S. Postal Service. She served as a courier for four to five years before briefly stepping away in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic to protect her family’s health. Just seven weeks later, she returned to support the organization on an as-needed basis, assisting with special projects during a critical time. About three years ago, she transitioned back into a part-time role, where she continues to be a reliable and valued member of the Supply Chain team.

“I really like my job,” Keefe said. “Being part-time works well for me, and I enjoy the challenges — especially the special projects. Moving into Mason Clinic and relocating Supply Chain into temporary facilities last summer were challenging and fun, and I wanted to be here to see those through.”

Born in Germany in a military family, Keefe grew up moving frequently before her family settled in Arizona, where she attended high school. She moved to Mason County in 1977 and has deep roots in the community. Keefe raised three children in the area, all of whom attended Shelton High School and were born at Mason General Hospital. She has further connections to Mason Health — her mother worked at the hospital as a registered nurse in the Birth Center.

Before joining Mason Health, Keefe built a distinguished career with the U.S. Postal Service, beginning in 1983. She worked as a letter carrier and clerk in Shelton before becoming Postmaster in Lilliwaup in 1998, and later in Union in 2005. She retired in 2014 after 32 years of service.

“It was a hard job to walk away from,” she said. “I had great employees and amazing communities. When I retired, I wanted a part-time job that still felt meaningful.”

That opportunity came when Keefe heard about a Mason Health job fair on the radio. With prior experience in hospital central supply from her time working in Phoenix, the part-time courier position at Mason Health proved to be a perfect fit.

“Working in Materials/Supply Chain, courier work made sense for me,” she said. “I had the background, and it turned out to be a great place to land.”

Colleagues describe Keefe as dependable, adaptable, and consistently willing to step in where needed — qualities that have made her an essential part of Supply Chain operations.

“Tracy is a fantastic employee,” said Rebekah Parker, RN, Birth Center. “I had the privilege of working with her during a process improvement project. She is an extremely hard worker, good communicator, enjoyable team player, and very skilled at her job. I felt Tracy sought input from our department, really listened to our requests, and facilitated the whole interdepartmental project. She empowered our unit to remain fully stocked and functioning, so that we can provide the best care to our patients in the community. I cannot say enough nice things; this employee is truly an asset.”

Outside of work, Keefe enjoys teaching herself German, researching her genealogy, and spending time with family, including her seven grandchildren.
