A bicyclist died Friday after being struck by a truck on Highway 3.
According to the Washington State Patrol, both the bicycle and the truck were traveling northbound on State Route 3 with the bike on the right shoulder. About 3:45 PM at Anthony Road, the truck moved to the left to pass the bike. The bike then moved into the northbound lane and was stuck by the truck. The truck came to rest on the northbound shoulder while the bicycle ended up on the southbound shoulder.
The unidentified bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the truck, a 44-year-old Shelton man, was not injured.
The investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing. No charges are expected and no other details including the identity of the bicyclist are available at this time.
