The bicyclist who died Friday after being struck by a truck on Highway 3 has been identified.
The Washington State Patrol says Steven D. Thomas, 45 of Grapeview, was pronounces deceased at the scene of Friday’s crash on State Route 3 and Anthony Road.
A press memo says Thomas was traveling northbound on the right shoulder of SR-3. About 3:45 PM at Anthony Road, a northbound truck moved to the left to pass Thomas’ bike. The bike then moved into the northbound lane and was stuck by the truck. The truck came to rest on the northbound shoulder while the bicycle ended up on the southbound shoulder.
The driver of the truck, a 44-year-old Shelton man, was not injured.
The investigation continues. No charges are expected.
