The Washington State Patrol is investigating a three-vehicle head-on crash on State Route 3 Sunday night that injured a Port Orchard man.
About 8:30 PM, a northbound SUV crossed the centerline and struck a southbound sedan head-on and then rolled into the southbound ditch. A southbound SUV (the third vehicle involved in the crash) left the highway as well and rolled in the southbound ditch. The sedan ended up fully blocking Highway 3.
The driver of the northbound SUV, a 36-year-old Port Orchard man, was the only injury reported. He was transported to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
The driver of the sedan, a 79-year-old Shelton man, and the driver of the southbound SUV, a 35-year-old Port Orchard man, were not injured.
A press memo indicates that drugs or alcohol were involved in this crash. The 36-year-old Port Orchard man driving the northbound SUV faces Driving Under the Influence charges.
