High School Sports Report from 3/18/26

Loss for SHS Softball

The Shelton fastpitch softball team lost their home opener Wednesday to Olympic 8 to 4. The Highclimbers fell behind the Trojans early and were unable to catch up. Shelton was led in the loss by Ada Gouley who was 2 for 3 at the plate with and RBI. Hailey Schuffenhauer was 2 for 2 with an RBI. Kaylee Rix and Paris Mentzer each batted in a run. Rix pitched three innings and was charged with 6 runs (3 earned) on 4 hits with 2 walks and a strike out. Jonni Gouley went four innings, allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits with no walks and 1 strikeout. The Highclimbers drop to 1-and-1 on the season. They play River Ridge Friday at the RAC (Regional Athletic Complex) in Lacey.

High School Sports Schedule for Thursday, March 19, 2026:

Golf: North Mason vs. Bainbridge at Bainbridge HS Wing Point Country Club 3 PM (weather permitting)

Girls’ Tennis: Black Hills at Shelton 3:30 PM (weather permitting); North Mason at Sequim 4 PM (weather permitting)

Track & Field: North Mason & Sequim at Bainbridge 4 PM

Baseball: Wishkah Valley at Mary M. Knight 4 PM; North Mason at Port Angeles 4:15 PM (weather permitting)
