Tacoma Power will be testing its emergency siren and alert system for Cushman Dam at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
Emergency Alert TESTS will go out via cellular phone and landline calls, SMS, and email to people in the possible flood inundation area who may be affected in the event of an actual dam failure or potential failure.
In addition to the alerts going out via phone, SMS, and email, a SIREN TEST will occur at Cushman Dam #2 and may be heard in the area of Dam #2. The siren test should last about 90 seconds.
