Win for SHS Softball; Loss for SHS Baseball; SHS & MMK Track Results.

The Shelton fastpitch softball team beat Elma Thursday on the road. The Highclimbers’ Hailey Schuffenhaer hit a three-run home run in the first inning and finished 2 for 4 at the plate. Kaylee Rix was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Emi McFarland, and Makayla Lee also batted in runs for the Highclimbers.
The ‘Climbers improve their overall record to 4-and-3. Shelton is off until April 13th when they host North Mason on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.


The Shelton baseball team suffered another walk-off loss Thursday falling at Aberdeen 2 to 1. With the game tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Bobcats had a runner at second base with one out when Mylan Bruner laid down a sacrifice bunt that scored the winning run.
Silas Hoff batted in the Highclimbers run while Daniel Crossan was 2 for 2 at the plate with a triple. Crossan also pitched, going the distance, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits with no walks and eight strike outs. Kingston Cahoon hit a double. And Carl Turnbow, Cam Winans, and Easton Wagner each had hits in the loss.
Shelton is now 4-and-3 on the season, 0-and-3 in the Evergreen Conference. The Highclimbers host North Mason Friday on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.


The Shelton track and field teams competed in an Evergreen Conference meet Thursday at W.F. West. Both Highclimber teams came in third in the team scoring.

Claire Warnock was the girls’ 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles.
Trayson Bartholomew won the boys’ 1600 meters.
Madison Lohmeyer won the girls’ 1600 meters and 3200 meters.
Lily Hageman won the girls’ javelin and was 3rd in the shot put.
Carter White finished 2nd in the boys’ 800 meters.
Addison Aldrich was 3rd in the girls’ 400 meters
Cali Ronald took 3rd in the girls’ 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles.
Sophia Loverfield was 3rd in the girls’ high jump.
Justice Bloomfield took 3rd in the boys’ 110-meter hurdles and 3rd in the 300-meter hurdles.
Hunter Dagget was 3rd in the boys’ discus
Trevor Gott tied for 3rd in the boys’ high jump.
Silas Baker tied for 3rd in the boys’ high jump.
Fletcher Henry placed 4th in the boys’ shot put and in the discus.
Zoey Baze took 4th in the girls’ high jump.
Hailee Nadeau finished 4th in the girls’ 400 meters.
Jadyn Smith placed 4th in the girls’ 100 meters.
The Shelton track and field teams are off until April 24th when they compete against Black Hills and Centralia at Tumwater District Stadium.


The Mary M. Knight track and field teams competed in a nine-team meet at Naselle Thursday with both Owl teams placing 6th in the team scoring.

Lexi Stamper won the girls’ shot put and was 2nd in the discus
Bella Buck won the girls’ javelin.
Natalie Hammel-North took 3rd in the girls’ javelin.
Gabe Walters was 4th in the boys’ discus.
MMK competes in the Henrie-Weisel Invitational next Thursday in Raymond.
