Tamra Ingwaldson announced Friday that she is running for Mason County Auditor.

A longtime Mason County resident with over 40 years of corporate and nonprofit experience, Ingwaldson currently works with New Horizon Communities, a movement working to end homelessness in Mason, Thurston, and Pierce counties.

In a news release, Ingwaldson states, “Mason County is my home. This community supported me in raising my two daughters as a single parent, becoming a homeowner, and graduating from college. I have dedicated my career to servant leadership and look forward to continuing to serve our community as the next Mason County Auditor.”

Throughout her career, Ingwaldson has been dedicated to our shared community. Her diverse work experience, including 15 years with United Way, gives her a multitude of skills to use as Auditor. Ingwaldson has also volunteered extensively, including past leadership roles with Lake Limerick HOA Board, Saint David of Wales Episcopal Church, Kiwanis Club of North Mason, and multiple North Mason High School committees.

In running for Auditor, Ingwaldson hopes to restore the community’s trust with the Auditor’s Office and ensure voting is safe, secure, and convenient. She is supported by multiple retired auditors, including Karen Herr, Paddy McGuire, and Walt Washington.

“I’m running for Auditor because our elections and all aspects of the Auditor’s Office should be administered fairly and without political influence. I will model ethical leadership, restore confidence in our elections, and bring back the trust our community deserves.”

Ingwaldson has lived in Mason County since 2007. She holds a BS in Business Management and was awarded Shelton-Mason County Chamber Citizen of the Year in 2025. (For a full list of Ingwaldson’s qualifications, visit tamraforauditor.com/about.)
