[VIDEO] A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday at the soon to be improved Sweetwater Creek Water Wheel Park.
The park is a joint project led by the Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group. MasonWebTV Powered by HCC attended the ceremony along with a couple dozen others including Mendi Harlow, the Enhancement Group’s Executive Director, who explains the project with the water wheel in the background.
Currently, the trail is unimproved and ends about a half-mile from the parking lot but once developed will be an ADA accessible loop with a picnic shelter, interpretive center and public restrooms on the almost six-acre property.
The park is located in Belfair, across Highway 3 from the Theler Wetlands, just south of Belfair Elementary.
