Win for SHS Baseball
The Shelton baseball team pounded out 13 hits in a 13 to 3, five-inning Evergreen Conference win over Centralia Saturday at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma.
Jacob Jacoby led the Highclimbers at the plate, hitting two triples and batting in five runs. Carl Turnbow was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBI. Ryan Brady hit a two-run double. Silas Hoff hit a double and batted in a run. Kingston Cahoon, Cam Winans, and Drew Helser had an RBI each for the ‘Climbers.
On the mound, Daniel Crossan started the game and went three innings, allowing two runs (1 earned) on three hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Cahoon was charge with an earned run, three hits, a walk and three strikeouts in two innings. And Winans closed out the fifth with no runs or hits, two walks and two strikeouts.
Shelton improved to 6-and-3 on the season, 1-and-3 in EVCO play. The Highclimbers play the Tigers two more times. Both games are scheduled to be played at Centralia on Tuesday and Wednesday.
