SHS Softball Over NM; Win for NM Baseball
The Shelton fastpitch softball team got by North Mason Monday 6 to 4.

The Bulldogs got on the board in the top of the first inning: Sydnnie Imlay batted in Fiona Youngberg and Faith Porter grounded out brought in Taylor Madison.
The Highclimbers evened things up in the bottom of the inning: Cassandra Tyler scored on Lexi Rowland’s fly ball and an out later, Hailey Schuffenhauer stole home to tie the game at 2.
NM took back the led again (3-2) in the top of the third with two-out: Imlay doubled and was brought home by Faith Porter’s fly ball to right.
The ‘Climbers took the lead in the bottom of the inning: Emi MacFarland scored from second on Riley Rowland’s to right to tie the game at 3. Roland then put Shelton up 4-3 by scoring on an error after stealing third.
The Highclimbers added a run in the fourth when Tyler doubled in Abi Fauula. And went up 6-3 in the sixth on Lexi Rowland’s sacrifice fly that scored Schuffenhauer.
North Mason added their fourth run in the top of the seventh with two out: Youngberg batted in Zoey Holdorf on a fly ball to center field.
Shelton was led at the plate by Cassandra Tyler who was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Riley Rowland was 1 for 2 with an RBI. Lexi Rowland batted in a run. And Abi Fauula was 2 for 4.
North Mason’s Sydnnie Imlay was 3 for 3 at the plate with a double and an RBI. Faith Porter was 1 for 3 with two RBI. Fiona Youngberg was 1 for 2 with an RBI. And Taylor Madison was 1 for 3.
Highclimbers’ pitcher, Kaylee Rix, went six innings, allowed three earned runs on five hits with three walks and seven strikeouts. Jonni Gouley pitched the seventh and gave up one run on one hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
The Bulldogs’ staring pitcher was Fiona Youngberg who went two and a third innings allowing four runs on three hits with five walks and five strikeouts. Addyson Roy pitched three and two-thirds innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits with no walks and six strikeouts.
Shelton improved to 5-and-3 on the season. The Highclimbers head to Centralia Wednesday.
North Mason drops to 4-and-5. The Bulldogs travel to Port Angeles Tuesday.

The North Mason baseball team beat Port Angeles for the second time this season on Monday 2 to 1 in 11 innings. The Roughriders got on the board first in the third inning. The Bulldogs tied the game in the fifth when Danner Jones singled in Dylan Prideaux with two out. NM then walked off with the win in the bottom of the 11th: with one out, Jones walked and stole second before Reid Shumaker’s bunt allowed Jones to score the winning run. North Mason improves to 4-and-2 on the season, 2-and-1 in the Olympic League. The Bulldogs sweep the season series with PA. NM travels to Kingston Tuesday.
