MMK Track & Field Results; Win for NM Soccer; Losses for SHS Baseball & Soccer, NM Baseball & MMK Baseball
The Mary M. Knight track and field teams competed in an eight-team meet at Ocosta Tuesday.
Top Owl Finishers:
Lexi Stamper won the girls’ shot put and was 2nd in the discus.
Ryder Lake won the boys’ 800 meters with a season best time of 2:29.20a and was 4th in the 400 meters.
Bella Buck won the girls’ javelin and was 5th in the discus.
Zoie Anderson finished 2nd in the girls’ high jump.
The relay team of Gabe Walters, Gabe Buck, Logan Green & Ryder Lake placed 4th in the boys’ 4 x 100.
Logan Green took 4th in the boys’ javelin and was 6th in the shot put.
Gabe Walters finished 5th in the boys’ discus.
Natalie Hammel-North took 5th in the girls’ shot put and javelin.
MMK competes in a meet at Hoquiam on April 30th.
The Shelton baseball team lost to Tumwater Tuesday 14 to 2 in six innings.

The Thunderbirds scored nine runs in the top of the sixth inning to break the game open. The T-birds’ Luke Overbay hit a grand-slam home run and Jayden Stacey hit a two-run homer that started Tumwater’s scoring that put the game out of reach.
The Highclimbers’ runs came on an RBI double by Jacob Jacoby in the third inning and Kingston Cahoon scored on a passed ball in the fifth. The ‘Climbers were held to five hits: two by Jacoby, and one each from Kahoon, Cam Winans, and Gunnar Jensen.
Shelton drops to 9-and-4, 4-and-4 in the Evergreen Conference. The teams play again Tuesday in Tumwater.
The Shelton boys’ soccer team lost at Tumwater 1 to 0 Tuesday. The Highclimbers are now 2-7-and-1 on the season, 2-and-4 in the Evergreen Conference. The ‘Climbers return home Friday and host Aberdeen.
The North Mason boys’ soccer team beat Sequim Tuesday 3 to 1. The road win improves the Bulldogs’ record to 3-7-and-1 overall, 2-and-7 in the Olympic League. NM host Bremerton Friday.
The North Mason baseball team lost to Bremerton Tuesday 7 to 3. The Bulldogs’ runs came in the bottom of the seventh inning. Jaxon Dowding batted in two runs while Caden Atencio had NM’s other RBI. North Mason is now 6-and-6 on the season, 3-and-5 in the Olympic League. The teams play again on Thursday this time in Bremerton.
The Mary M. Knight baseball team lost to Ocosta Tuesday 25 to 5. The Owls host Wishkah Valley Thursday.
